Still We Rise: 50 Years After the Vietnam War
Thanh is heading to the Bay Area with her collection of rare Vietnamese vinyl music and will be DJing at DVAN’s ‘Still We Rise’ event.
To commemorate the 50th anniversary of the end of the Vietnam War, DVAN is hosting a landmark event in San Francisco on April 26, 2025. Join us for an unforgettable evening of reflections, poetry and music performances by renowned artists of the Vietnamese diaspora.

Threads of Passage: From Vietnam to America
To commemorate the 50th anniversary of the end of the Vietnam War, Linh My Truong will explore the untold stories of her family and other Vietnamese boat refugees after the end of the war through a series of immersive interactive textile and video installations. Premiering at the Annex Gallery at 333 Midland in Detroit.

In conjunction with the We Were Soldiers, Too / Chúng Tôi Cũng Là Lính exhibit at Little Saigon Creative from April to June 2025, we’re holding a photo session and community archival event at NVC Memorial Hall. Details forthcoming. Pulitzer Prize-winning photojournalist Marcus Yam is scheduled to be in attendance to capture portraits of Seattle-area South Vietnamese veterans.

OPENING RECEPTION: We Were Soldiers, Too/Chúng Tôi Cũng Là Lính
As a daughter of Vietnamese refugees, Thanh Tan has spent years preserving her community’s culture and history, especially parts that are unspoken or lost in translation. We Were Soldiers, Too is part of her effort to preserve these stories and features portraits taken by Marcus Yam and oral histories from veterans of the Army of the Republic of Vietnam (ARVN), many of which have never been shared publicly.
Opening reception on Friday, April 18 @ 5:30-7:30pm. RSVP here.

Texas Tech Vietnam Conference
Thanh will present in Lubbock, TX at the Texas Tech Vietnam Conference. This year’s theme is "1975: The End of the Vietnam War." Thanh will deliver a multimedia presentation that pulls from the reporting she has done over the past decade to preserve the legacy of the veterans of ARVN’s 18th Infantry Division.
